Just wondering if anyone down here has a combination of the two and if so how well it transforms the bike. I wouldn't if it we're my machine is all I'm saying. Hey all, has anyone here in oz donethee ecu flash to their bike I have s V&H programmer on mine but have read many post about using a fuel pprogrammer and the flash together. Second and best way to see if your lean is install a If you feel comfortable with running work no flash or Fuel programmer by all means do it. While I do think our motors are advanced and have great cooling features, I'm still old school and prefer to be safer, and error on the caution side. This also contributes to popping sound from exhaust. Just remember stock ecu will cut the fuel off in decel below 2k rpm which IMO, is one of the worst things to do, yes it saves on emission but leaves a lean condition which is terrible for internals even with having radiator/ oil cooler. So I used the CO mod to compensate for it and it worked for me until I got the flash. I did this when I had stock exhaust and open air cleaner, I did find the rear cylinder was leaned more than I was happy with, ( this is common as even from factory the rear cylinder runs hotter than the front one due to less cooler air circulation. I always put new plugs in every season for two reasons, first I can see what the internal motor condition is, and two, it's so cheap to do why not. There are a few ways to check this out, most easiest is putting new plugs in when you do this, then check them at 500 mile intervals a few times. You are adding more air and also have much less restriction on exit. 232184 Views 1075 Replies 154 Participants Last post by preacherman, Feb 19, 2021. I would not risk running my motor lean which could happen by having a less restricted exhaust and intake. some haven't added anything (flash or fuel programmer) and did exactly what you are asking and have tens of thousands of miles with no issues. This is only my opinion, others will vary.
